Poker is one of those games that can make you end up with a rather huge pot in terms of winnings. However, winnings are relative. Here are some of the biggest poker winnings of all time that may put the pot that you had while everyone was bored at work to shame.
World Series of Poker 2012
At the number 55 event for the SOP in July 2012, an Iranian man named Antonio Esfaniari won over 18 million dollars. Antonio is a darling in the world of poker and many people know him. He had one of the biggest scores ever at the WSOP event in 2012. He got 18.3 million dollars in one go.
Besides being a poker player who wins events like this, he’s also known for his magic.
WSOP 2014 Big One for One Drop
This one was won by the 23-year-old Dan Colman. He played against 41 other players to win 15.3 million dollars at this event. An interesting thing about the event was that apparently, The American Dan didn’t react at all after winning. He just sat there calmly. That’s certainly a great poker player right there. He’s even using his poker face against the audience and announcers!
The event is all about raising money for charity in order to help with clean water in countries that don’t have this. The story goes that Colman was going to give up poker in 2012 and instead apply to college, but he screwed up the applications, ended up not going to college, and instead decided to keep trying poker. It’s a good thing he did!
WSOP 2018 Big One for One Drop
Just last year, there was a game where Justin Bono won $10 million. At the time, Bonomo got the lead for the All-Time Money List for top earnings. He got the title from Daniel Negreanu. Bonomo had $43 million in winnings all time.
